Meeting on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) – 2025 held in Kargil.
Kargil, September 19, 2025: A meeting was convened by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), UT Ladakh, Mr. Rahul Sharma, at the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Election Officer (DEO), Ms. Kaneez Fatima, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Tehsildars of various blocks, the Election Officer, and BLO Supervisors of District Kargil.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the strategies adopted by AEROs, Supervisors, and Booth Level Officers (BLOs) with respect to the mapping of electors in the Electoral Roll of 2025 and 2005.
The CEO emphasized the importance of timely and accurate mapping of electors to ensure a transparent and inclusive electoral roll. AEROs and BLOs were directed to expedite the process of mapping electors to avoid duplication and ensure that all eligible voters are correctly listed.
The current pace of work was assessed, and it was stressed that delays must be avoided. Officers were urged to intensify efforts to complete the assigned tasks within the given schedule.The CEO directed that reports must be submitted strictly in the prescribed format to maintain uniformity and accuracy in data compilation.
It was reiterated that all reports and updates must be furnished within the stipulated timeline to facilitate smooth execution of the revision process.
The training concluded with an interactive session, where participants clarified their doubts regarding field challenges and technical issues. The initiative is expected to strengthen the quality of electoral rolls, ensure inclusiveness, and maintain accuracy by addressing unmapped and shifted cases effectively.
