He described the scheme as a practical example of the “Governance at Doorstep” vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Government.
According to official figures, Kargil district had a target of 13,043 beneficiaries under PM-KISAN. The Agriculture Department successfully registered 14,118 farmers, all of whom have been accepted on the PM-KISAN portal. A major attraction of the event was the first-ever Mushroom Field Day organized in Kargil. The exhibition demonstrated the growing potential of mushroom cultivation as an alternative source of income for farmers and rural youth in the district.
Responding to the demands raised by Self-Help Groups and mushroom entrepreneurs, Advocate Riyaz Ahmad Khan assured that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities for establishing a dedicated marketing outlet at Baroo, enabling SHGs and local entrepreneurs to sell mushrooms and other locally produced value-added products.
