Mimangs-Si-Sjapstogs: Stok Residents Turn Out in Large Numbers for Doorstep Services
Leh, November 15: The district-wide outreach initiative Mimangs-Si-Sjabstogs “Administration at Your Doorstep” was held today at the Lagsam Tsogspa Hall in Stok, bringing a wide range of government services directly to the community.
Addressing a large gathering of villagers, Nodal Officer, Thinles Dawa, stressed on the significance of the initiative, calling it a first-of-its-kind effort aimed at ensuring that essential welfare schemes and services reach citizens without the need for travel or lengthy procedures.
He urged the villagers to make full use of the opportunity and appreciated the strong turnout.
He also highlighted the on-the-spot services made available at the camp, inclusion of individuals above six years of age in ration card, e-KYC registration, Aadhaar enrollment, agricultural subsidy support, job card facilitation, Insurance forms and basic health screenings such as blood pressure and sugar checks. He further acknowledged the presence of representatives from various departments dedicated to grievance redressal and service delivery.
The camp saw active participation from the Agriculture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Health, Horticulture, Education, Banking, Cooperatives, RDD, PDD, PHE, and Social Welfare departments. Nearly 20 departmental officials and around 250 villagers attended the outreach event.
Officials from each department briefed villagers on the range of schemes, benefits, and ongoing initiatives available to them.
During the day-long camp, villagers made extensive use of the services brought to their doorstep.
The facilitation counters recorded 20 e-KYC registrations, around 40 Aadhaar enrollments, and over 22 new member additions to ration cards, along with the issuance of one digital payment QR code, 10 insurance forms filled, 6 PDMC forms were issued for installation of micro-irrigation and 4 new bank accounts were opened, showing a strong uptake of essential civic, financial, and welfare services.
