‘Month of Compassion’ The Animal Husbandry Department, in collaboration with Chamba Animal Care Centre, organised an Animal Health Awareness and Adoption Camp at Main Market Leh.

Leh, July 9, 2025: As a part of ‘Month of Compassion’ The Animal Husbandry Department, in collaboration with Chamba Animal Care Centre, organised an Animal Health Awareness and Adoption Camp at Main Market Leh. This initiative aims to provide vital veterinary services, educate the public on animal welfare, and facilitate the adoption of animals, promoting a compassionate approach to animal care within the community.
Similar impactful camps were also held in other villages as a part of ‘Month of Compassion’. At Sakti village, a significant participants turnout was observed, especially with notable presence of female participants. Farmers received crucial information on animal diseases, vaccination programs, artificial insemination and various departmental schemes.
Their grievances were also noted to further and both on-site and door to door treatments were provided for animals.
Further, demonstrating the widespread reach of this initiative, BVO Nubra staff conducted various activities in Bogdang village as part of ‘Month of compassion’ and ‘Dharti Abha Abhiyan campaign.
