Monthly Sanitation Drive Conducted at Hunder Sand Dunes and Market Areas of Hunder and Diskit, Nubra.
Nubra, June 30, 2026: A monthly sanitation and cleanliness drive was conducted today at the Hunder Sand Dunes and the market areas of Hunder and Diskit under the directions of the Deputy Commissioner, Nubra, Shri Mukul Beniwal, IAS.
The initiative was organised with the objective of promoting cleanliness, environmental awareness, and sustainable tourism across the district.
The drive witnessed active participation from the Hotel and Guest House Association, the Merchant Associations of Diskit and Hunder, Nambardars and the residents of Diskit and Hunder, who joined hands to make the campaign a success.
The sanitation drive covered the Hunder Sand Dunes, main roads, streets, marketplaces, water bodies, and other public places. Special emphasis was laid on identifying and clearing waste accumulation points to ensure a clean, hygienic, and eco-friendly environment while promoting sustainable waste management practices.
The campaign concluded successfully with the active cooperation and support of all stakeholders. Residents, tourists, and business establishments were urged to continue supporting cleanliness initiatives to preserve Nubra’s natural beauty, protect the environment, and promote responsible and sustainable tourism.
