MP Conducts Extensive Tour of various villages; Assures Swift Action on Public Issues.
Shargole, October 30, 2025: The Hon’ble Member of Parliament for Ladakh, Haji Hanifa Jan, conducted a comprehensive tour of Shargole Constituency along with government officials to assess ongoing developmental activities and interact with local residents. The visit covered Sapi, Fokar, Karamba, Khachay, and Serging villages, where the MP listened to public grievances and assured prompt redressal through coordination with the concerned departments.
During his interaction at Sapi, area councillor, Nasir Munshi raised vital issues including land compensation, enrollment of local labourers in BRO projects, and the long-pending mobile tower installation.
The MP assured that the telecommunication issue would soon be taken up with the concerned ministry. On the matter of wild bear attacks on livestock, the MP directed officials to take immediate preventive measures and ensure swift action to safeguard public and animal safety.
At Fokar, residents apprised the MP about the shortage of teachers and headmaster, the failure of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the area, and the urgent need for an ambulance facility. They also demanded a Model Middle School for the village.
Responding to these concerns, the MP assured that all the issues would be addressed on priority and directed officials to expedite the necessary actions.
During the visit to Karamba, villagers highlighted the need for a motorable road to Thangbu, renovation of bridges and footbridges, and improvement of JJM implementation. They also raised demands for hospital renovation and repair of weak library buildings.
The MP assured the villagers that these concerns would be taken up jointly by the Hill Council and relevant departments, emphasizing timely execution of urgent works.
At Khachay, the MP was informed about several pressing issues, including loopholes in JJM works, shortage of manpower, and lack of adequate water supply for nearly 80 households.
Other demands included financial assistance for Drukpa School, support to Self Help Groups for fencing materials, and the Lift Irrigation Project for household water needs. The MP assured that all issues would be addressed in a phased manner and instructed officials to ensure transparency and timely delivery of services.
The tour concluded with a visit to Serging Village, where locals requested renovation of the newly constructed community hall, provision of electricity connection, and development of a parking space for pilgrims visiting the area. Haji Hanifa Jan assured the gathering that these genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities and resolved at the earliest possible time.
