MP Haneefa Jan Visits Shargole Constituency, Reviews Public Grievances and Development Works.
Kargil, October 29, 2025: Member of Parliament (MP) Ladakh, Mohammad Haneefa Jan, today carried out an extensive tour of various villages under Shargole Constituency, to review public grievances and developmental needs. He was accompanied by Councillor Shargole, Mohd Jawad, DPO ICDS, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Xen PMGSY, and other officers and officials.
At Lotsum, villagers raised issues including the need for an irrigation canal, Primary Health Centre (PHC), kitchen and bathroom facilities at Maktab, and upgradation of the high school to higher secondary level. The MP directed the concerned department to prepare a project for the irrigation khul and asked the CEO Kargil to examine the educational feasibility as per norms.
At Darket, locals demanded a medical and trauma centre, irrigation khul at Farka Yurba, lift irrigation at Bituthang, a library, and an animal husbandry centre. The MP assured to prioritize these issues.
At Shargole, villagers demanded a 5G tower, upgradation of PHC to CHC, a village committee hall, and administrative restructuring to ease access to services. The MP directed immediate repair of the submersible pump at Manathang and instructed officials to resolve JJM related issues within 10 days. He also directed the BRO to realign the road near Dumboo and prepare a project for a culvert.
At Mulbek Dongrdan, the community sought a hall and resolution of JJM issues. The MP assured that JJM Phase-II would address existing concerns and promised support for the Chamba Statue project, Photang development, and cultural infrastructure.
At Wakha and Yokma Rgyalkhang, villagers raised demands for road blacktopping, renovation of irrigation headwork, and an airport at Wakha. The MP informed that the previous survey for the airport showed technical infeasibility, but a new survey has been requested while the existing Kargil Civil Airport issue has already been taken up with the ministry.
At, Chati Thang villagers also raised various developmental issues to which
MP Mohammad Haneefa Jan assured his commitment to resolving local issues in a phased and time-bound manner .
Later, the MP visited Tingdoo, where he was appraised about upgradation of School, blacktopping of link road, ambulance for health centre, ice hockey rink, rooftop at graveyard and children park in the village.
MP Ladakh said that the proposal for school upgradation will be put forth as per school norms. Beside this he assured to redress all issues on priority basis.
