    National Level Training Program for Booth Level Officers Commences in Leh.
    Leh, July 8, 2025: A week-long National Training Program for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) began today at Panchayat Hall, Agling Leh, under the supervision of the District Election Officer (DEO), Leh, with the aim of strengthening electoral processes at grassroots level. The training is scheduled to continue from July 8 to July 15, 2025.
    The inaugural session commenced with a welcome address by Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) Ghulam Mohammad (ADC Leh), who stressed the vital role of BLOs in ensuring accuracy, transparency, and integrity of electoral rolls.
    Chief Electoral Officer (Incharge) Sonam Chosjor, in his address, appreciated the dedication of BLOs and underlined the importance of their field-level work such as door-to-door voter verification, corrections in the electoral roll, and encouraging public participation in the democratic process. He also highlighted the responsibility of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and the need for mutual coordination between BLOs and BLAs to ensure clean and inclusive electoral rolls.
    The training focused on key responsibilities of BLOs, including house-to-house verification, addition and deletion of voter names, correction of details, and facilitating new voter registration. They were also guided on their role in promoting electoral awareness among citizens, especially marginalized groups.
    Chozin Palmo, State Level Master Trainer (SLMT – Ladakh), along with Kunzang Dolma and Kunzes Angmo (Resource Persons), conducted interactive sessions using PowerPoint presentations, aimed at equipping the participants with practical knowledge, field-level protocols, and ethical standards in election duties.
    The program specifically catered to BLOs from Neymo Tehsil, who participated with enthusiasm and commitment. At the end of the session, certificates were distributed to all participants, acknowledging their active involvement and readiness to carry out electoral duties with efficiency and responsibility.
    As per the guidelines, the training will be held in 50 participants batch in each session/day comprising BLOs, AERO and BLO Supervisor to have a more active interaction and meaningful discussion.
    The District Election Office reiterated its commitment to building a robust and transparent electoral system through continued training and support for all field-level election functionaries.
    The first day of the training program was attended by around 50 participants including Assistant CEO Deleks Namgyal, Deputy District Election Officer Padma Angmo, BLO Supervisors, Booth Level Officers, and other election staffs.
