NISR Leh plants trees, medicinal plants on Environment Day

Leh, June 5: The National Institute of Sowa Rigpa Leh observed World Environment Day at its Trans-Himalayan garden by planting around 200 trees and medicinal plants.
The institute had started the plantation drive under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on April 22 on World Earth Day. The plantation drive concluded today. They planted 2,010 trees and 3,000 medicinal plants with the help of the Forest Department Leh.
Dr Padma Gurmet, Director of NISR Leh, appreciated the efforts of the staff of the Herbal Garden and the Forest Department for their contribution during the plantation drive despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandem
