On the second day of the three-day workshop organised by the Central Institute of Buddhist Studies in connection with the Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of the Tathagata in Leh, participants continued engaging in traditional Himalayan art and heritage practices.
The workshop, being held from May 6 to 8, 2026, is conducted by the Himalayan Sculpture Department, Thangka Painting Department, Himalayan Woodcarving Department, and Manuscript Conservation Department of CIBS, with the aim of preserving and promoting these rich cultural traditions.
Around 50 participants, including students, tourists, and personnel from the Indian Army, are actively taking part in the workshop and gaining hands-on experience in these traditional art forms.
Interested individuals may also join the workshop free of cost at the institute till May 8, 2026.
