Orientation-cum-Training Program for Selected Haj Pilgrims of Leh District Held at Conference Hall DC Office leh.
Leh, April 7: Haj committee UT ladakh under supervisor Chairman Haj Committee of Ali Majaz conducted a one-day orientation cum training programme for selected Haj Pilgrims for UMRA 2025. The training session was conducted at the Conference Hall DC office Leh. Honorable Chairman All India Haj Committee Mr. A. P. Abdullakutty participated in the training session, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner Leh Ghulam Mohd (JKAS).
The program was aimed at providing necessary guidelines, instructions, and awareness to the pilgrims to ensure a peaceful, disciplined, and successful pilgrimage. Various speakers, including religious leaders and officials, addressed the pilgrims and shared valuable insights regarding the pilgrimage procedures, travel policies, and spiritual preparations.
Addressing the gathering, Ashraf Ali Barcha President Anjuman Imamia expressed his gratitude to the Union Territory Administration of Ladakh for forming a separate Haj Committee after the formation of UT Ladakh. He highlighted the importance of such orientation programs in guiding and preparing the pilgrims. He urged all the selected Hajis to strictly adhere to the prescribed rules and regulations and maintain their physical fitness as the pilgrimage involves long-distance walking during various rituals.
He also stressed the significance of maintaining discipline, patience, and confidence while performing the Haj rituals and advised the pilgrims to approach volunteers in case of any queries or issues during the journey rather than creating panic or confusion.
Vice President of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Mr. Ramzan, in his address, highlighted the advantage of modern technology which has made communication and travel much easier. He mentioned that unlike the earlier days, pilgrims can now access important information and stay connected through mobile phones and other digital means while traveling to other countries.
Councillor Mirza Hussain emphasized the importance of self-purification and helping fellow pilgrims during the Hajj journey. He called upon the pilgrims to foster a spirit of brotherhood and maintain the sanctity of the holy pilgrimage.
Haj Committee President, Majaz Ali, informed the gathering that the Haj Committee for Ladakh was formed in December 2022. Since then, the Committee has been extending continuous support to the pilgrims to fulfill their religious aspirations. He appreciated the efforts of the UT Administration in addressing the needs of the pilgrims and advised the Hajis to remain mentally prepared for challenges and accept the ups and downs during their spiritual journey.
During the session, detailed discussions were also held regarding logistics, including what essential items the pilgrims should carry and what to avoid, ensuring a hassle-free journey.
The orientation program concluded with a question-and-answer session, where the pilgrims cleared their doubts with the officials and volunteers present.
