Leh, June 27, 2024: A delegation comprising outsourced pharmacists from Kargil engaged under National Health Mission (NHM) led by Shri Syed Sadiq called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Commissioner/Secretary, Health, Dr Vasanthakumar N, IAS and Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Syed informed the HLG that they were engaged as pharmacists under NHM in 2019 on a monthly salary of Rs 15,000. He also informed about the intimation given by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Office about the end of their contract by June-end. He along with other delegates requested for the extension of their contract.
The HLG informed about the end of the contract of all outsourced employees working in different departments of UT Ladakh and the call for fresh contracts with vendors so that they can engage employees on an outsourced basis to meet the needs of the government departments. He stated that lawful procedure would be followed in the engagement of vendors and subsequently of outsourced employees through them. He also stated that an equal chance would be given to eligible candidates so that the best-outsourced staff is engaged by the vendor.
Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Bogdang, Smt Mepham Tsomo called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Shri Sanjiv Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner/Secretary to the HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Director, School Education Department, Shri Tsering Paldan, JKAS, were present in the meeting.
Smt Tsomo informed the HLG about the posting of her husband, Shri Jigmat Namgail, who is working as a lecturer at Government Higher Secondary School, Akchamal in Kargil.
The HLG stated that the transfer of teaching/non-teaching staff of School Education Department would be done by following the lawful process.
