Kargil, July 15, 2026: A three-day Passport Seva Camp organised by the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Srinagar in collaboration with the Hajj Committee of Union Territory (UT) Ladakh concluded in Kargil on July 15, 2026. The camp was held at the Tourist Facilitation Centre and processed around 120 passport applications during the period.
Present on the concluding day were Chairman Hajj Committee, Ghulam Abass Abidi; member Hajj Committee Haji Ghulam Mohd, other members of Hajj Committee Ladakh and Officials of Regional Passport Office Srinagar.
The initiative aimed to improve access to passport services for residents of Kargil by bringing facilities closer to their homes. Earlier, applicants were required to travel to Srinagar or Leh to avail these services.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Ghulam Abbas Abidi expressed gratitude to Regional Passport Officer B.S. Rawat for organising the camp in Kargil. He requested the RPO to conduct another Passport Seva Camp for five-day in the coming days to further facilitate the public.
Local residents welcomed the initiative and appreciated the efforts of the Passport Office and Hajj Committee, noting that the doorstep availability of services significantly reduced travel-related inconvenience.
