Plantation Drive Launched in Kargil Town to Boost Beautification Efforts.
Kargil, July 01, 2026: In a continued effort to beautify Kargil town, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kargil, Ghulam Mohd, today initiated a plantation drive along key road stretches in the town area.
Approximately 500 flower saplings, provided by the Forest Division Kargil, were planted across various locations. The plantation drive covered the stretch from Lok Niwas to Shilikchay Bypass Bridge, passing through Iqbal Bridge, the Military Engineering Services (MES) area, Bus Stand Kargil, and other parts of the town.
It is pertinent to mention that earlier the District Administration Kargil had also undertaken the removal of unused electric and telecom poles, wires, and overhead lines from the town area to enhance its aesthetic appeal and improve urban infrastructure.
