Prayer ceremonies in connection with the upcoming Sacred Exposition of the Holy Relics of Tathagata Buddha, scheduled to be held in Jivetsal, Leh, Zangskar & Dharma Centre Leh from 2nd to 15th May 2026, commenced today with devotion and reverence.
The inaugural prayer was held at Gang-Sngon Tashi Chodzong, Phyang Monastery, on 21st April 2026, marking the beginning of a series of spiritual observances to be conducted on a rotational basis across various monasteries in Leh district. Monks of Phyang Monastery gathered to offer prayers, seeking blessings and spiritual merit ahead of the sacred exposition.
The forthcoming exposition of the Holy Relics is expected to draw pilgrims and visitors from across the region and beyond, providing a rare opportunity for devotees to pay homage and engage in spiritual reflection.
Leading up to the main event, Ladakh Gonpa Association will host a series of prayer sessions at various monasteries, beginning from Phyang today and concluding at Spituk on 29th April. The full schedule includes prayer at Likir Gonpa (22nd), Takthok Gonpa (23rd), Chemdey Gonpa (24th), Hemis Gonpa (25th), Matho Gonpa (26th), Stakna Gonpa (27th), and Thiksey Gonpa (28th).
