Pre-World Environment Day Campaign: Municipal Committee Kargil Organizes Plantation Drive Near Iqbal Bridge.
Kargil, June 4, 2025 – Municipal Committee, Kargil organized a plantation drive near Iqbal Bridge today as part of pre-campaign activities ahead of World Environment Day.
The drive commenced with the ceremonial planting of saplings by Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil/Administrator MC Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, in the presence of Executive Officer MC Kargil, Arifa Iqbal Lone, and other officials from the Municipal Committee.
Various plant saplings were planted in the specially prepared concrete pits to enhance the green cover and to promote a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC Imteeaz Kacho emphasized the importance of such initiatives in combating climate change and preserving the ecological balance. He urged citizens to actively participate in plantation and cleanliness drives and take collective responsibility for protecting the environment.
The event is part of a series of activities being organized by the Municipal Committee in the run-up to World Environment Day, which is observed globally on June 5 every year.
