Public Darbar Turns Into Public Verdict: MP Khatana Blasts NC Government Over Disaster, RDD & PMGSY Failures in Rajouri.
Rajouri | What was intended to be a routine Public Darbar at Koteranka today turned into a strong public indictment of the National Conference (NC) as Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Shri Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, lashed out at the ruling dispensation for its false promises, administrative collapse and deliberate neglect of remote areas. The Darbar saw large participation from residents of Koteranka, Budhal and surrounding regions, who raised serious grievances against multiple departments.
Addressing the gathering, MP Khatana strongly criticised the NC leadership, stating that while tall claims are made in public, the ground reality reflects complete governance failure. Referring to the recent landslides and flash floods, the MP said that the Chief Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Disaster Management Authority, failed to provide timely relief and rehabilitation to the affected families, leaving distressed people without support during critical times.
Locals during the Public Darbar raised serious allegations against the Rural Development Department (RDD) and PMGSY, stating that officials failed to respond satisfactorily to public queries. People alleged that the RDD is functioning in a biased and discriminatory manner, and shockingly, villagers were asked to produce MLA DO letters even for genuine demands under MGNREGA, which clearly reflects a breakdown of rule of law and administrative accountability.
    Reacting sharply, MP Khatana asserted,
“We will take hisaab of every single paisa of the Central Government. Not a single rupee meant for the poor will be allowed to be misused. We will ensure that every paisa reaches the root level,” he said.
The MP also came down heavily on the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, stating that it has failed to ensure regular drinking water supply and has miserably failed in implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Several other departments were accused of remaining whitewashed, showing little or no presence on the ground.
Serious concerns were also raised regarding the Education Department, where mass-level attachments have allegedly been carried out in a highly biased manner, adversely affecting students and institutions. Residents also highlighted the poor implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and alleged that disaster management funds have not been utilised properly, despite repeated natural calamities in the region.
MP Khatana further revealed that the PWD Department informed him that not even a single work has been sanctioned under UT Capex in Block Budhal (Old) and Khawas, terming it as clear discrimination and step-motherly treatment meted out to these areas by the NC-backed administration.
“This exposes the anti-development and anti-rural mindset of the NC government,” the MP remarked.
Zulfkar Ali Choudhary Slams Education & RDD Departments
Former Minister and BJP candidate from Budhal, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, also addressed the gathering and lashed out at the Education Department and RDD, stating that both departments have failed the people completely.
“Transfers, attachments and developmental works are being done with bias. We will fix accountability and ensure that officers are made answerable for their failures,” he said.
BJP District President Rajouri Targets Failure in Implementing PM Modi’s Schemes
BJP District President Rajouri, Shri Dev Raj Sharma, in a fiery statement, said that the biggest failure of the present administration is its inability to take Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary schemes to the grassroots level.
“Schemes like PMAY, Jal Jeevan Mission, Saubhagya, PM Surya Ghar, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and several others are meant to transform lives, but due to administrative apathy and political interference, people continue to be deprived of their rightful benefits,” he said.
He added that the BJP will continue to raise people’s issues fearlessly and ensure that governance remains transparent, accountable and people-centric.
The Public Darbar concluded with an assurance from MP Ghulam Ali Khatana that all genuine grievances raised during the interaction will be taken up at the highest levels and that the BJP remains committed to ensuring development with accountability, justice and delivery of benefits to every eligible citizen.
