Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign Launched in Durbuk Sub-Division today by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Durbuk. The initiative aims to ensure complete immunization coverage for children under the age of five across the sub-division, ensuring that no child is left vulnerable to the disease. The drive was ceremonially kicked off at the Primary Health Center (PHC) Tangtse, where
the SDM administered the “Two Drops of Life” to infants to mark the commencement of the campaign.
SDM personally administered oral polio vaccines to children brought to PHC Tangtse, supported closely by the dedicated medical staff and local health workers. Mobile teams and dedicated immunization booths have been strategically established to reach remote and high-altitude settlements. Following the initial booth day, healthcare supervisors and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) will conduct door-to-door visits to ensure 100% coverage.
Speaking on the occasion, the SDM commended the Department of Health and the local frontline workers for their resilience in executing public health programs in tough terrains. He strongly urged all parents and guardians across the sub-division to bring their eligible children to the nearest booths, reinforcing the message that collective vigilance is essential to maintaining India’s polio-free status.
