Kargil, March 03, 2024: To make the country polio free a Pulse Polio Immunization drive was inaugurated today at CHC Padum in Zanskar by incharge SDM, Talib Hussain in presence of Block Medical Officer Zanskar, Dr Nawang Chosdan.
Mothers braved freezing cold and heavy snowfall to take their children under five years old to the polio booth for the polio drop.
To ensure the success of the national program, 1239 children aged 0 to 5 years were targeted for immunization across 32 polio booths established in the Sub Division. To facilitate this, 1500 doses of polio vaccines were dispatched to far-flung areas in advance.
