Redundant Poles, Overhead Wires Removed in Baroo–Upper Changchik Beautification Drive.
Kargil, May 18, 2026: Continuing the ongoing beautification and clearance drive, another phase of the removal campaign was conducted in the Baroo–Upper Changchik area today under the supervision of ADDC Kargil, Ghulam Mohd (JKAS).
During the drive, unnecessary poles and redundant overhead wires belonging to various telecom operators were removed to ensure smooth movement of commuters and improve the overall appearance of the area.
Officials from the Municipal Committee, Revenue Department and telecom operators actively participated in the drive.
The administration reiterated that such initiatives will continue in different parts of Kargil district in a phased manner as part of the larger beautification and public convenience campaign launched on the directions of Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena.
