    Republic Day celebrated at Sub Division Sankoo
    Kargil, Jan 26, 2025: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic zeal in Sub Division Sankoo where I/C SDM Sankoo, Ghulam Asgar was the chief guest.
    He unfurled the tricolor as the national anthem played in the background and took the salute at the march-past. The event was attended by all tehsil-level officers and a significant public gathering.
    The chief guest addressed the public with warm greetings on Republic Day. In his speech, he underscored the sacrifices of our national freedom fighters and the untiring work of national leaders in framing and implementing a uniform constitution in 1950.
    Since then, our country has achieved significant development in various fields. Additionally, the chief guest also mentioned some notable and splendid achievements in Sankoo and across UT Ladakh.
    He mentioned the Zojila Tunnel, NH-301, and the completion of various link roads in the Sub-Division of Sankoo, which directly benefits the populace of Ladakh and the people of Sankoo in particular.
    Furthermore, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of the Executive Engineers and their entire team for the timely completion of many projects in Sankoo.
    He also commended the commendable efforts of SHO Panikhar, Manzoor Ahmad, along with the cooperation of NT Taisuru, for collecting crucial evidence from the prolonged crime scene to ensure the accused were brought to justice and the victims’ families received justice.
    Additionally, children from various schools performed skits on moral values and delivered speeches on Republic Day, captivating the audience and raising awareness about the significance of this important national occasion.
    The chief guest presented prizes to participants for their outstanding performances and awarded appreciation certificates to several officials from various departments for their exemplary services. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all officers and officials for their active participation, which enhanced the occasion’s charm.
