    Kargil, April 08, 2025: A plantation drive was held at School of Agricultural Science and Technology, Kargil, University of Ladakh in line with the mega plantation drive initiated by Jamiat Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil.
    Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rinchan Dolkar, Assistant Professor, with traditional Khataks at the campus. The plantation drive was inaugurated by Prof. Saket Kushwaha and Nawang Tundup, Registrar UoL.
    Prof. Saket Kushwaha inaugurated the plantation drive by planting a juniper tree, along with the Registrar and Assistant Professors. All B.Sc. Agriculture students, Basic Agriculture trainees, and both teaching and non-teaching staff participated by planting cuttings of willow and poplar, along with saplings of apricot and thuja throughout the campus, under the dynamic presence of the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the University of Ladakh.
    After the plantation drive, a brief interaction was held with the students, Basic Agriculture trainees, and teaching and non-teaching staff, followed by a high tea in the campus lawn.
    The Vice Chancellor interacted with each student, asking about their goals after completing the B.Sc. in Agriculture. He also informed the students that they have a great opportunity to study professional course in their hometown, near their families, as studying outside can bring additional challenges beyond academics.
    The students requested the Vice Chancellor to provide transport facilities for daily up down. He assured the students that the issue would be addressed.
