SDM Chiktan chairs meeting to discuss, finalize timeline for removal of encroachment on Khangral Sanjak Road.

Kargil, August 16: Sub Divisional Magistrate, Shakar Chiktan, A.G. Zargar today chaired a meeting to discuss and finalize timeline for removal of encroachment on Khangral Sanjak Road.
Tehsildar Shakar Chiktan, OIC (Civil) 81-RCC BRO, I/C Police Post Chiktan, JE (I&FC), JE (R&B), Revenue Field Staff attended the meeting.
The chair expressed grave concern about the level of encroachment on the existing dimensions of Khangral-Sanjak Road right from Km 0 at Khangral to Shakardo at various levels due to which the people have a bad travel experience on the road.
The chair also informed that complaints are also pouring in from the general masses regarding the matter with the request for intervention.
The SDM also expressed his dismay over the poor performance of the concerned agencies in removing the encroachments of the road and maintaining the quality and original dimensions of the road.
The representative of BRO was accordingly instructed to get these encroachments removed within a week in coordination with the concerned agencies. The representative of BRO assured the chair to clear the encroachments and restorative of the original dimensions of 6 Mtrs of the road within a week.
Seepage of irrigational canals and subsequent damage to the bitumen surface also came under discussion and the SDM instructed the I&FC Department to immediately take measures to contain the seepage of water to avoid any further damage to the road.
SDM also assured to provide all kind of assistance viz. deployment of Magistrate and Police, if required for removal of encroachment from the road.
He strictly ordered the concerned agency to immediately mobilized man and machinery for the removal of the encroachment and restoration of 6 meters width of the Khangral Sanjak Road and place requisition for deployment of Police and Magistrate to his office if required.
The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by the SDM. Later, the SDM along with all the concerned officers inspected the road from Khangral-to-Sanjak and figured out the encroachment in detail and on spot instructions were also issued to the concerned for removal of the encroachment in an effective and coordinated manner.
