    SDM Khaltse Chairs Preparatory Meeting for Visit of “His Holiness Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Thinley Lhundup” to Sham Area.
    Khaltse, April 23, 2025:
    As per the direction of the Hon’ble Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC-Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltse, Mohd Sharief, convened a meeting today with all concerned departmental officers and stakeholders, including representatives of the Gonpas, at the SDM Office Chamber in Khaltse. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming visit of “His Holiness the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Thinley Lhundup” to the Sham area, scheduled to begin on 1st May 2025.
    The meeting included detailed discussions on arrangements related to essential services such as road connectivity, drinking water, electricity, traffic regulation, parking for VIPs and the public, medical facilities, public conveniences, seating arrangements, PAS system, and garbage disposal.
    The meeting was attended by:

    Village member Lingshed, Dorjay Namgial.
    SDM Khaltse directed all concerned officers to ensure that essential services and road connectivity works are completed in advance of His Holiness’s teaching ceremonies. He also instructed that joint site visits to Lingshed and Lamayuru be undertaken by relevant officers and officials for on-ground assessment.
    Following the meeting, the SDM also inspected the Jalabi Mor of the Lamayuru old road along with concerned officials.
