Second Batch Five-Day Bhoti Textbooks Training Programme Commences at DIET, Leh.
Leh, 1 January 2026: The Second Batch Five-Day Bhoti Textbooks Training Programme on the newly framed Bhoti textbooks for Founda onal and Primary Classes commenced today at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh. The programme is being ended by 102 teachers from Kharu, Leh, and Khaltsi zones.
The Head of the Institute, Ms. Tsering Yangdol, highlighted the importance of Bhoti textbooks and emphasized the need for Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in enhancing teachers’ professional proficiency. She noted that, as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Government of India guidelines, teachers are required to complete a minimum of 50 hours of CPD training annually.
She formally welcomed the resource persons—Venerable Stanzin Norbu, Dr. Lotos Rabgais,and Mr. Tundup Namgail—with traditional khataks.
The resource persons emphasized the importance of teaching Bhoti as the foundation of Ladakh’s culture and identity and briefed the trainee participants on the process involved in the development of the Bhoti textbooks.
