    In continuation of the Envisioning Zanskar Summit 2026, Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar, in collaboration with the All Zanskar Student Union, the summit convened a diverse group of experts and stakeholders, including academicians, policymakers, political leaders, religious scholars, students, and representatives of civil society, to engage in panel discussions and collaborative deliberations aimed at shaping a shared vision for the future development of Zanskar.
    The programme commenced with a talk titled “Beyond Boundaries: Exploring Career Opportunities for Zanskar’s Youth (UPSC by ZEST)”, delivered by Mr. Geshe Pala, a ZEST Scholarship recipient. He spoke about the scholarship support available for students preparing for competitive examinations and encouraged aspirants to make use of such opportunities.
    The second panel discussion, themed “Exploring Career Opportunities for Zanskar Youth,” was moderated by Dr. Jamphel Sheyan, Assistant Professor of English, GDC Zanskar. The discussion focused on expanding career opportunities for the students of Zanskar. The panelists, Shri Rigzin Samphel, Shri Tsering Gaphel, Ms. Pema Chodon, and Ms. Shanaz Parveen, emphasized the need for students to aspire to higher-ranking administrative and professional positions. They also highlighted the importance of exploring career opportunities beyond government employment. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session. The panelists were felicitated with traditional Khataks and souvenirs by Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi, Principal GDC Zanksar.
    Following the lunch break, the third panel discussion on “Youth Well-being: Prioritizing Mental & Physical Health” was moderated by Dr. Akbar Ali, Assistant Professor of Political Science, GDC Zanskar. The panel featured Dr. Stanzin Sherab, Ms. Rinchen Angmo (Molang Ladakh) and Ms. Namgail Angmo. The speakers underscored the importance of maintaining both physical and mental well-being, emphasizing that good health is essential for leading a happy and fulfilling life. The session concluded with an engaging interaction between the panelists and participants.
    An important awareness session on “Silent Threat: Drug Abuse Among Youth in Zanskar” was conducted by Ms. Stanzin Angmo (BMO Zanskar) and Mr. Nawang Gyatso, popularly known as Budha Gyatso. Both the panelists sensitized participants to the growing threat of drug abuse and discussed ways to remain vigilant against this social menace. They stressed that drug abuse has emerged as a serious challenge across societies and called upon the younger generation to remain aware and stay away from such harmful practices.
    This was followed by a talk on “Significance of Financial Literacy,” delivered by Dr. Stanzin Sherab, who emphasized that economic well-being is equally important for individuals and communities. He encouraged participants to develop financial literacy and explore economic opportunities alongside their academic pursuits.
    The second day of the three-day Envisioning Zanskar Summit 2026 concluded with a session on physical defence.
