Secy Ravinder reviews progress of work in sports, animal/sheep husbandry & fisheries dept
Leh, July 30: Secretary, Youth Services & Sports and Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Ravinder Kumar, today chaired a meeting of the Youth Service & Sports & Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Departments to review the physical and financial progress status of the ongoing /new work under SDP/ State/ Changthang Development package; the status of priority works & expenditure by the end of the first quarter and anticipated expenses by the second quarter of the Financial Year (FY) 2021.
The officers of the concerned department (Animal/Sheep Husbandry), apprised Secretary Ravinder of creating rural infrastructure, wool collection centre, furnishing of rural infrastructure, machinery & equipment, special development package, construction of central veterinary referral hospital at Dambuchan. Similarly, the officials of the Youth Services & Sports Department briefed Secretary Ravinder about the construction of the VIP Stand and the upgradation of Open Stadium at Spituk, construction/ repairing of the ice hockey pond at all the 31 blocks, development of sports infrastructure at govt schools, construction of ice hockey rink in all six subdivisions of Leh district and four subdivisions of Kargil and the construction of indoor sports complex at Leh and Kargil. Secretary Ravinder directed the concerned Department of Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries officials to work on the modalities of integrating the animal farm sector with the tourism industry. He also asked them to promote rural tourism.
Secretary Ravinder directed the Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) to complete the construction of the roofing of the Ice-Hockey Rink, multi-purpose sports stadium and the requirement of the sports equipment and completion of the work on time.
He also directed the concerned officials to prepare the components/schemes of the revised estimate for 2021-22 and the budget estimate for 2022-23.
Secretary Ravinder impressed upon the concerned officials of the departmental divisions to complete the plans, review and monitor the expenses regularly and prioritise the procurement and billing as soon as possible.
