Special Cell for Women Kargil organizes awareness program at Mutahhary Public School.
Kargil, Sept 06, 2024: Special Cell for Women Kargil in collaboration with Women Police Station Kargil today organized an awareness program at Mutahhary Public School, Kurbathang.
In this regard, SHO Women Police Station introduced the Women Police Station and informed the students about cybercrime and issues related to cyber cell.
Both social workers from Special Cell for Women participated in the program and briefly discussed the topic ‘understanding gender based violence.’ Khadim Hussain Social Worker informed the students about safe touch and unsafe touch and the preventative measures.
Hassina Batool social worker gave a presentation on gender based violence and different forms of domestic violence, patriarchy and masculinity, sexual harassment, issues related to women’s safety.
She also spoke about the work of Special Cell, the services provided by the cell and the impact of violence on women’s health. Participants were also shown a small video on gender sensitization, a video clip by the UN titled “Impossible Dream” and showed a video of Kamla Bashin on stalking and domestic violence and patriarchy in India. It was followed by a question-answer session.
