Drass, September 21, 2026: Nitin Yadav, (IAS) SSP Kargil, and the Divisional Forest Officer Ankit Sinha (IPS) Kargil, visited GDC Drass and interacted with students on important issues concerning career development, environmental responsibility and drug abuse prevention. The visiting officers were warmly welcomed by Principal MNM Shabani.
During the interaction, the DFO Kargil engaged with students on the importance of environmental conservation, protection of natural resources and individual responsibility towards preserving the fragile mountain ecosystem. He also shared guidance and insights regarding UPSC preparation, encouraging students to explore civil services as a career avenue.
SSP Kargil, Nitin Yadav, interacted with students on UPSC preparation, career opportunities and the adverse effects of drug abuse. In the context of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, he sensitised students about the social and personal consequences of substance abuse and urged them to remain aware, responsible and actively contribute towards building a drug-free society.
The session also included a question-and-answer interaction, during which students actively engaged with the visiting officers and raised questions related to UPSC preparation, career pathways, environmental concerns and drug abuse prevention. The officers responded to the queries and encouraged students to pursue their goals with discipline, awareness and commitment.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to interact directly with senior officers and gain practical insights into civil services, environmental stewardship and responsible citizenship.
