Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nubra, Mr. Mukul Beniwal (IAS), inaugurated a one-day Sensitisation cum Capacity Development Program at the SDM Conference Hall in Diskit.

Nubra : April 21, 2025: Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nubra, Mr. Mukul Beniwal (IAS), inaugurated a one-day Sensitisation cum Capacity Development Program at the SDM Conference Hall in Diskit. The program was organized by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Nubra, Mr. Mukul Beniwal (IAS), inaugurated a one-day Sensitisation cum Capacity Development Program at the SDM Conference Hall in Diskit.
Speaking on the occasion, SDM Nubra appreciated the efforts of the organisers and instructed the Horticulture Officer and Agriculture Officer of Nubra to support farmers on a regular basis rather than only once a year. He encouraged farmers to take full advantage of various government schemes. He also highlighted that apples, apricots, and seabuckthorn are special to the region, and emphasized the need to develop these products to increase income.
Dr. Sonam Dawa, Horticulture Officer, Nubra briefed the farmers about the schemes available through their department via online platforms.
Miss Chemist Lhamo In-charge SDAO Agriculture, Department Nubra also shared detailed information about the government schemes available at the agriculture office.
Dr. Rigzin Tsewang and Ms. Bhaskar, Director Finance Compliance, educated farmers about the objectives of the sensitisation and capacity development program. They emphasized the importance of promoting agri-exports, organic farming, and exporting unique Ladakhi products.
A large number of farmers from Hunder and Diskit actively participated in the program.
