Suru River Safayi Abhiyan Continues with Successful Day 2 Cleanliness Drives in Sankoo Sub-Division.
Kargil, July 14, 2026: Under the directions of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Sankoo, Day 2 of the Suru River Safayi Abhiyan (Cleanliness Drive) was successfully carried out from Sankoo to Lankerchey by the Block Development Office (BDO), Sankoo.
The programme witnessed active participation from multiple departments and organizations, including the Agriculture Department, Sheep Husbandry Department, Youth Services & Sports Department, Baseej-e-Baqiyatullah Anjuman Sahib Zaman Sankoo, and officials of BDO Sankoo. The team comprised Mukhiya Sevikas, Panchayat Secretaries, Work Supervisors, BPM (RGSA), and other staff members.
Participants undertook extensive cleanliness activities by removing waste along the river stretch and spreading awareness about environmental conservation. The drive concluded successfully, supported by geo-tagged photographic documentation.
Meanwhile, another cleanliness drive was conducted from Damsna to Panikhar, which also saw enthusiastic participation from officials and staff of various departments. The Health Department, Panikhar, joined the initiative and contributed significantly to the campaign.
The coordinated efforts across both locations highlighted a strong commitment towards environmental protection and reflected a collective sense of responsibility in preserving the cleanliness and ecological health of the Suru River.
