    Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Khaltse (TLSC) in collaboration with Degree College, Khaltse organised an awareness programme on International Women’s Day on March 8 at Community Hall Khaltsi.

    Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Khaltse (TLSC) in collaboration with Department of Sociology, Degree College, Khaltse organised an awareness programme on International Women’s Day on March 8 at Community Hall Khaltsi.
    The speakers Munsiff/Chairman TLSC Khaltse, Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) Advocate Dechen Angmo, President of Ama Tsokspa, SHO Khaltse and Degree college Khaltse Dr Tsering Norphel threw light on the history and importance of the day need of the hour for recognition of the contribution of women in the progress of society and the challenges faced by women. The topics of Rights of women such as Sec 125 CrPC and Domestic violence were also discussed as well as Right to Free Legal Aid.
    The program began with a song by students of Degree College, Khaltse and a rally/procession was taken out from Main Market Khaltse towards Community Hall Khaltse. The participants carried play cards with different messages of equality for women and rights of women.
    A cultural program was presented by students of college and members of Ama Tsokspa. A traditional song was also presented by H/C Mohd Abdullah.
    During the program, a token of appreciation of Shawl and Khatak were presented to women from various fields for their contribution towards the society
    The programme was attended by Munsiff Khaltse/Chairman TLSC Khaltse Wangial Tsering, APP Dechen Angmo, SHO Khaltse, Nissar Ali, Naib Tehsildar Khaltse, Faculty/Staff members of Degree College including Dr Tsering Norphel and Dr Tsering Tashi, Lambardar Khaltse, President of Ama Tsokspa, Members of Ama Tsokspa Khaltse, Students of Degree college, Para Legal Volunteers of Khaltse, Temisgang, Skurbuchan and Lingshed, Staff members of Munsiff court Khaltse, police officials and Villagers of Khaltse.
