Tehsildar, SHO Zanskar conduct surprise market inspection in Padum.

Kargil, November 19, 2024: On the directions of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Zanskar, Tehsildar Zanskar along with SHO Zanskar today conducted a surprise inspection of the markets in Padum.
The operation aimed to curb hoarding, overpricing, and the sale of substandard goods, ensuring fair trade practices and consumer safety.
During the inspection, various shops were thoroughly examined. The team identified two butcher shops involved in the sale of expired and rotten meat. In view of public health concerns, both shops were immediately sealed on the spot.
To further address the matter, the officers contacted Food Safety Officer, Kargil, and requested that a team be dispatched to Zanskar for a detailed investigation and appropriate action against the violators as per the rules.
