The Agriculture Department organized a field demonstration on cultivation of Rajma through line sowing method at Farm School, Phey Village, with the objective of promoting scientific and improved agricultural practices among farmers.
During the programme, farmers were educated about the advantages of line sowing in Rajma cultivation, including proper plant spacing, better aeration, efficient intercultural operations, reduced seed rate, and improved crop yield. Technical guidance regarding spacing, nutrient management, irrigation practices, and weed control was also provided to the participating farmers.
The Program was attended by Agriculture Extension Officer Miss Tsering Dolkar and other officials highlighted that adoption of line sowing technology can significantly enhance productivity and facilitate easy management of crops compared to traditional broadcasting methods.
25 number of farmers actively participated in the demonstration and expressed keen interest in adopting the improved cultivation practices in their fields. The programme concluded with an interaction session where farmers discussed various issues related to Rajma cultivation and tool kit items and stationary items were also distributed among the farmers.
