The Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Changthang, Mr. Nitish Rajora ,IAS today held a review meeting with Dr. Mohd Sadiq, Assistant Director, Sheep Husbandry Department (SHD), Changthang, in his office chamber at Nyoma.
Nyoma, 05th of May 2026:-
During the meeting, Dr. Mohd Sadiq presented a detailed overview of the ongoing works and veterinary support being provided by the department across the Changthang region. He highlighted key initiatives undertaken for the welfare and healthcare of livestock, along with the department’s efforts to strengthen field-level veterinary services.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Dr. Mohd Sadiq to prepare and submit a detailed project report (DPR) focusing on the overall well-being, health, and productivity of livestock in Changthang. He further emphasized the need to undertake targeted interventions for boosting pashmina production, including identification of suitable land, development of pasture and fodder resources, and enhancement of the supply of feed supplements.
These points were highlighted by the Deputy Commissioner, who also instructed the Assistant Director to submit the necessary proposals and applications to his office
