Leh ,November 26,2025: The Zonal Education Officer, Leh, today on successfully conducted a comprehensive workshop and review meeting on School Management Committees (SMCs) and School Management and Development Committees (SMDCs) of the Leh zone under the flagship initiative of Samagra Shiksha and the Social Audit under PM Poshan.
The event was graced by the Worthy Secretary, School Education, Ms. Banu Prabha IAS, the Worthy Director, School Education, Ms. Tashi Dolma, along with the Chief Education Officer, Leh, Ms. Deldan Angmo, and the Zonal Education Officer, Leh, Ms. Padma Deachen. Their presence reflected the administration’s strong commitment to strengthening school governance, enhancing community participation, and ensuring the effective delivery of holistic education services across the district.
The morning session commenced with a welcome speech by the Zonal Education Officer, Leh, followed by presentations from ZEPO Leh, ZRP, and PM Poshan Incharge, who shared detailed reports on centrally sponsored schemes, including both recurring and non-recurring grants.
SMCs and SMDCs of various schools also presented and discussed issues related to their respective institutions, which were duly noted by the Worthy Secretary, Worthy Director, and the CEO Leh.
The dignitaries emphasized that empowering school committees leads to improved learning outcomes, better school environments, and stronger community trust. They also urged efforts to increase enrolment across all Government schools.
The workshop concluded with a formal vote of thanks by the Zonal Education Officer, Leh, expressing gratitude to all participants for their active involvement.
