Three-Day Training Programme on Census 2027 Framework Begins at DC Conference Hall, Leh.
Leh, May 13: The Administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh, Office of the Census Charge Officer/Tehsildar Leh, commenced a three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors of Tehsil Leh on the framework for Census 2027 at the DC Conference Hall, Leh.
The training programme is being conducted under the supervision of Shri Attaullah Khan, Tehsildar Leh. Field trainers Rahula and Zahir Ahmed conducted the sessions and delivered detailed presentations on various aspects of the upcoming Census 2027 process.
During the training, the field trainers explained that the Census 2027 will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will include House Listing and Housing Census activities. They highlighted the objectives and historical significance of the census while emphasising its importance as a credible source of information for planning and developmental activities.
The trainers also elaborated on the transition towards digital data collection through the “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) system for enumerators and supervisors. Various technical and operational aspects, including definitions of buildings, census houses and households, along with the workflow of enumerators and supervisors, were discussed in detail through presentations and case studies.
The training programme for the first batch is being conducted from May 13 to 15, 2026, while the second batch of training sessions will be held from May 16 to 18, 2026.
