Today on 29th July 2026 the department of Agriculture Leh organised one day ‘Farmer-Scientist’ interaction session (Under ATMA) in the meeting hall of Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh.

“Today on 29th July 2026 the department of Agriculture Leh organised one day ‘Farmer-Scientist’ interaction session (Under ATMA) in the meeting hall of Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh to bridge the gap between farmers and scientist aimed at proper dissemination of latest technologies and biological control of diseases and pests.
Officers of the department including Mr. Ibrahim DAO Inputs, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad SMS(DL), Sh. Ghulam Mohd SMS (SDL), Mr. Tsering Dorjay SMS (SDL), Mr. Ghulam Hassan Research Assistant, 20-Nos of progressive farmers from Leh town hamlets and Saboo village participated. Dr. Lobzang Stanzin, Scientist (Agronomist) and Dr. Thinles Norbu, Scientist (Entomologist) from the School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, University of Ladakh attended the session and presented lectures through PPT mode on crop production and control measures for Disease and Pest management.
District Agriculture Officer, Leh Sh. Shakeel ur Rehman was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. He stressed the farmers to adopt organic and natural ways and methods in cultivation the crops for a sustainable agriculture”.
