Two-Day Social Audit Training Inaugurated at DIET Leh.
Leh, November 6, 2025 — A two-day Social Audit Training program commenced today at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh. The initiative is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Education, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), and the Department of School Education, UT Ladakh, aimed at empowering master trainers to initiate the Social Audit process under the Samagra Shiksha Scheme across schools in the Union Territory.
The training was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Tashi Dolma, Director, School Education Department, UT Ladakh. In her keynote address, she emphasized the significance of forming dedicated Social Audit Teams, ensuring transparency, conducting public hearings in Gram Sabhas, systematic data collection, and comprehensive report formulation.
The event also featured the felicitation of esteemed resource persons from NCERT’s Department of Teacher Education: Prof. Sharad Sinha, Head, Teacher Education Department , Dr. Jitendra Kumar Patidar ji, Dr. Bhabagrahi Pradhan ji, Dr. Priyanka Varshney , Ms. Gayatri Kapoor.
Prof. Sharad Sinha addressed the gathering, highlighting strategies for the effective conduct of Social Audits in schools and the role of master trainers in fostering accountability and community participation.
Master trainers from the University of Ladakh (Leh and Kargil campuses) and from both DIETs of Leh and Kargil actively participated in the training, reflecting a strong institutional commitment to enhancing transparency and community engagement in education.
Sh. Mirza Mehdi, Principal, DIET Leh, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for their commitment to strengthening educational governance in Ladakh.
