Kargil, June 20, 2025 – The two days long training programme for AEROs, BLOs, and Supervisors was successfully concluded today at the Conference Hall, Baroo, Kargil. The second day session commenced with opening remarks by Mr. Amin, setting a positive tone for the day.
The training focused on the critical aspects of the Electoral Roll, highlighting that an error-free electoral roll is the foundation for free, fair, and transparent elections. It was emphasized that ensuring accuracy in the electoral roll is the most basic yet essential step for conducting credible elections.
Further, detailed discussions were held on the eligibility and registration of electors. The participants were informed about the correct procedures for name corrections and the use of specific forms for various updates. The role of BLOs was elaborated, noting that they conduct door-to-door surveys and are supported and supervised by AEROs and Supervisors. It was also made clear that any willful mistake committed by BLOs or BLAs may lead to strict disciplinary action.
Special attention was given to the verification process for married female voters, ensuring their proper inclusion in the electoral roll. The training also covered the removal of deceased individuals from the rolls and the timely addition of new eligible voters, particularly those who have completed 18 years of age.
Instructions were provided regarding the safe disposal of electoral records after the voting process to prevent any potential misuse. The officials were urged to work collectively, with BLOs playing a crucial role in facilitating smooth electoral processes in coordination with the public.
Lastly, Mr Amin advised that every BLO must remain humble and approachable, ensuring courteous communication with the public, whether in person or through phone calls, thereby strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
