    Two-week bridge course begins at GDC Zanskar.
    Kargil, April 17, 2025: A two-week bridge course under the PM-USHA Scheme commenced today at Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar for students who have appeared in the Class 12 examination and those who have already passed.
    Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar, Romil Singh, was the chief guest at the inaugural session. The program began with student registrations, and around 15 students, accompanied by their parents, attended the opening day.
    The bridge course aims to increase enrolment in the college by offering students career guidance, an overview of subject combinations, foundational knowledge of various subjects, and information about the facilities available at the college.
    Throughout the course, students will interact with faculty members, alumni, and current students to gain a deeper understanding of potential career paths and academic opportunities.
    Shagufta Zehra, Faculty of Education, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Jamphel Sheyan, Course Coordinator, introduced the course objectives and presented key aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 through a PowerPoint presentation.
    Principal Mohd Ishaq outlined the two-week schedule, emphasizing the purpose and benefits of the course. He also highlighted the college’s infrastructure and available facilities.
    In his address, SDM Zanskar praised the initiative and urged students to actively engage with the faculty to explore better academic and career options. He encouraged them to make full use of the available resources and consider enrolling in the college, which offers modern amenities.
    The first day concluded with an interactive session between students and faculty, followed by a visit to the college laboratory. The vote of thanks was presented by Thupstan Dolkar, Faculty of Environmental Science.
