Leh, June 20, 2024: A delegation comprising business unit owners under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) led by Shri Hasnain called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, IAS; Commissioner Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Dr N Vasanthakumar N, IAS; Commissioner/ Secretary to HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Secretary, Rural Development Department, Shri Amit Sharma, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Shri Hasnain informed the HLG about the business unit established by them under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) four years ago. He informed the HLG that their unit has still not been geotagged due to which they still haven’t received the subsidy amount from the bank. He requested the HLG’s intervention to expedite the geotagging process so that they get obtain the subsidy amount at the earliest.
Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Ladakh, informed the HLG that the geotagging of the units would be conducted by India Post. He informed that the matter has been taken up with the concerned authorities for the redressal of the matter at the earliest.
The HLG asked Shri Hasnain to meet Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce and directed Shri Khirwar to take up the matter with the concerned authorities to ensure the completion of the geotagging process at the earliest.
Smt Shehnaz Parveen, representing Ladakh Pencak Silat Association, called on the HLG at the LG Secretariat. Advisor to HLG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS; Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Commissioner/ Secretary to HLG, Shri L Franklin, IAS and Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, Shri Vikram Singh Malik, IAS, were present in the meeting.
Smt Parveen informed the HLG about the upcoming 8th edition of Penchak Silat Federation Cup 2024 to be held from 2nd to 4th August, 2024 in Leh, Ladakh. She informed the HLG that approximately 450 participants across the country would be participating in the tournament. Smt Parveen requested the HLG for financial support from the UT Administration to organise the Federation Cup in Ladakh.
The HLG asked Smt Parveen to train local boys and girls in the sport discipline and ensure the maximum participation of the local youth in the Federation Cup. The HLG directed Secretary, Youth Services and Sports, UT Ladakh, to organise the Federation Cup under the aegis of UT Administration and asked Smt Parveen to organise the event by the end of September this year.
