UT Ladakh Shines at National Level, Secures Two Prestigious National Health Authority Awards.
Leh, July 21, 2026: The Union Territory of Ladakh has brought laurels to the region by securing two prestigious Certificates of Appreciation from the National Health Authority, Government of India, in recognition of its outstanding performance under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The awards were conferred during the National Review Meeting (Chintan Shivir) held on 17th–18th July 2026 at Madhya Pradesh Bhawan, New Delhi.
Ladakh was recognised as the Best Performing Union Territory under the ABDM Registry (HPR & HFR) Saturation category for achieving remarkable progress in the registration of Healthcare Professionals and Health Facilities under the national digital health framework. In another significant achievement, the Union Territory was also honoured as the Best Performing Small State/UT under the category Highest Health Record Linking Per Lakh Population, acknowledging its exceptional efforts in promoting the adoption of digital health records and strengthening the digital healthcare ecosystem.
The Certificates of Appreciation were presented by Dr. Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IAS, Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and representatives from various States and Union Territories.
The twin national recognitions underscore the collective efforts and unwavering commitment of the Health & Medical Education Department, UT Ladakh, State team of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Ladakh, National Health Mission Ladakh, healthcare institutions, healthcare professionals and all stakeholders who have worked tirelessly towards the successful implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission across the Union Territory.
The achievement reflects Ladakh’s steadfast commitment to advancing digital healthcare by strengthening the Health Professional Registry HPR, Health Facility Registry HFR and digital health record integration, thereby ensuring improved accessibility, efficiency and continuity of healthcare services for its citizens. The recognition also highlights the Union Territory’s dedication to the vision of Digital India, fostering a robust, inclusive and citizen-centric digital health ecosystem.
