Vaccination for Haji Pilgrims 2026 Begins in Kargil.
Kargil, 25 March 2026: The Hajj 2026 vaccination programme commenced today in Kargil District, covering various blocks including Sankoo, Taisuru, Drass, and Shakar Chiktan block, among other areas in Kargil district. A total of 259 Haj pilgrims, including two SHI pilgrims, were successfully vaccinated on the first day.
In Leh District, the vaccination programme is scheduled to be held on 26th and 27th March 2026 for 64 Haj pilgrims at designated centres including the CMO Office Leh, SDH Diskit, and PHC Chuchot.
The vaccination programme in Kargil was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, in the presence of CMO Kargil, Kacho Layiqat Ali; BMO Kargil, Dr. Ab. Jalil; and District Vaccination Officer Kargil, Dr. Rabiya Banoo, along with other dignitaries.
Also present on the occasion were Chairperson Haj Committee UT Ladakh, Haji Mohd Ali Majaz, and EO Haj Committee Ladakh, Zakir Hussain. On this occasion, Haji Mohd Ali Majaz warmly welcomed DC Rakesh Kumar.
The Deputy Commissioner Kargil interacted with the Haj pilgrims during the programme, extended his best wishes for their holy journey, and prayed for peace and prosperity in Ladakh and across the world. He also presented a traditional khatak to the Haj pilgrims as a gesture of goodwill and blessings.
The vaccination programme is being conducted smoothly across the district at all designated vaccination centres in Kargil district.
