    Various delegations call on Hon’ble Lt. Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas.

    Kargil, July 25, 2023: A delegation from Panikhar village led by its former Sarpanch, Shri Ghulam Rasool, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas.
    Chairman, LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan; Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, IAS; Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Anayat Ali Choudhary, IPS were also present in the meeting.
    Shri Rasool raised several issues, viz. The creation of a separate CD block and division of Naibat of Tehsil Taisuru; the construction of Panikhar-Wardwan road; assistance for livestock rearing; the development of tourism infrastructure in Suru valley; improving mobile connectivity in Suru valley; the retention of Zonal Education Office at Panikhar, etc.
    The HLG to look into their issues.
    Councillor, Shargole, Shri Mohd Ali Chandan called on the HLG at Raj Niwas.
    Councilor Chandan raised several demands, including sanctioning of lift irrigation scheme for Tingdoo village; retendering of the project work for the construction of Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Shargole; construction of flood protection bund at Wakha and Fokar nullahs, etc.
    The HLG suggested Shri Chandan to priotise the project works that need early attention and assured him of all possible support.
    A delegation comprising members of Hajj Committee of Ladakh led by its Chairman, Shri Mohd Ali Majaz, called on HLG at Raj Niwas.
    Shri Majaz informed the HLG that 454 people from Ladakh, who had gone for Hajj pilgrimage this year, have returned after completing their pilgrimage. He expressed gratitude to the HLG-led UT Arministration for the support. He requested the HLG for required infrastructure to streamline the Hajj Committee of Ladakh.
    The HLG congratulated Shri Majaz on the successful conclusion of Hajj pilgrimage and assured to empower the Hajj Committee of Ladakh.
    A delegation from District Panchayat Coordination Committee, Kargil led by its President, Shri Issa Ali, called on HLG at Raj Niwas.
    Shri Ali apprised HLG about various issues, viz. the need for the implementation of 73rd Amendment in Ladakh; delimitation of panchayats; increasing grant-in aid fund for panchayat; empowerment of panchayats in Ladakh and permission for extraction of minerals for construction purposes, etc.
    The HLG assured to examine the matter as per the provision of the law.
    A delegation comprising residents of different villages of Kargil called on HLG at Raj Niwas. They requested for HLG intervention in the early redressal of SRO-43 cases.
    The HLG assured that their cases will taken up by the concerned departments for the early redressal of their issues.
    Earlier, the HLG was given a Guard of Honour on his arrival at the Raj Niwas in Kargil.
