Various delegations call on LG Ladakh.
Leh, February 11: Various delegations called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, at the LG Secretariat to present proposals for cultural, infrastructural, and sporting development in the Union Territory.
A delegation of the Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Memorial Society requested the installation of statues of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche at Nubra and Zanskar, the revival of Vishesh Kendriya Vidyalaya in Delhi, and official functions on May 19 to mark his birth anniversary.
Sonam Rigzin, a local carpenter from Hemis Shukpachan, also submitted his demands.
Another delegation, led by Dorjey Angchuk, proposed the production of a documentary highlighting Ladakh’s winter tourism potential, showcasing adventure tourism, homestays, and other facets on an international platform.
A delegation from the Ice Hockey Association, Drass, requested improvements to ice hockey infrastructure in Drass.
The Lt Governor reiterated the UT Administration’s commitment to transforming Ladakh into a world-class winter sports and spiritual destination and apprised the delegations of various ongoing projects in this direction.
