    VC SKUAST Kashmir, Prof. Nazeer Ahmed Ganaie chairs 20th, 6th Scientific Advisory Meetings of KVK Kargil 1&2 in Kargil.
    Kargil, August 14, 2024: The 20th and 6th Scientific Advisory Meetings (SAC) of KVK Kargil1 and KVK Kargil2 were held at KVK Kargil under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor, SKUAST, Kashmir, Prof. Nazeer Ahmed Ganaie and under the overall supervision of Director Extension, Prof. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi.
    Executive Councillor Agriculture, LAHDC, Kargil, Syed Mujtaba Musavi, graced the occasion as chief guest. The meeting was attended by Divisional Forest Officer, Mohd Ali; Chief Agriculture Officer, Ashiq Hussain Basharat; Chief Scientist Dr. Faizan Ahmed; District Agriculture Officer Raziya Banoo; District Disease Investigation Officer, Animal Husbandry, Dr. Sonam Spaldon; Chief Scientist and Head KVK Malangpora, Dr. Javed Mugloo; extension workers; progressive farmers, scientific and technical staff of both KVKs.
    During the meeting, the annual progress report 2023 of KVK Kargil 1 and KVK Kargil 2 was presented by Dr. Mehdi and Dr. Shah Khan respectively.
    During the meeting, challenges and opportunities in agriculture were deliberated thoroughly. The chairman gave his suggestions and instructions where he felt they were necessary and appreciated the work of both KVKs.
    He further stated that KVKs heads must prepare a report on successful technologies and submit it to the Directorate of Extension SKUAST-K Shalimar for policy formation at State level.
    The chief guest, while addressing the participants, thanked the host institute for inviting him to the meeting and advocated for dissemination of technology to the farming community. He further assured the house of the out scaling of the technologies through LAHDC, Kargil.
    Director Extension, Dr. Dil Mohammad Makhdoomi, lauded the efforts of KVK Kargil in serving the farming community despite many challenges. The meeting culminated with the release of technical bulletins by both the KVK’s from the august hand of chief guest.
