Leh, May 1, 2026: On the sacred and serene occasion of Buddha Purnima, the spiritually vibrant landscape of Leh bore witness to a profoundly elevating celebration—the 2569th Buddha Jayanti and the ceremonial inauguration of the Sacred Exposition of Holy Relics of Lord Buddha at the revered Jivetsal Photang.
Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder and Spiritual Director of the Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) Leh-Ladakh, graced the sacred celebrations of the 2569th Buddha Purnima and ceremonial inauguration of the Holy Relic Exposition.
The occasion was specially graced by Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, whose participation brought national prominence to the spiritually significant gathering. Joined by several international dignitaries, including ambassadors from Sri Lanka and Thailand, as well as senior administrative officials and political leaders, the event emerged as a remarkable confluence of spirituality and statesmanship.
The event unfolded in an atmosphere of deep devotion, marked by sacred rituals, resonant prayers, and an overwhelming sense of collective reverence.
On the occasion, Ven. Bhikkhu Sanghasena had the honour of felicitating Amit Shah with a traditional Khatak.
