    Vice-Chancellor UoL, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, makes maiden visit to Kargil Campus, UoL also visited School of Agriculture Science and Technology, Kargil, UoL.
    Kargil, Feb 04, 2025: Vice-Chancellor, University of Ladakh (UoL), Prof. Saket Kushwaha, today visited Kargil Campus at Khumbathang, where he received a warm welcome by the students, faculty and non-teaching staff of the Campus. The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by Controller of Examinations, UoL, Professor Deskyong Namgyal; the In-charge Registrar, UoL, Nawang Tundup; Associate Director School of Agriculture Science and Technology (Leh), Dr. Dorjay Namgyal.
    The Vice Chancellor interacted with faculty, staff and students of the Campus. In the interactive session the Incharge Administration of Kargil Campus, UoL, Dr. Mehboob Ali delivered the welcome speech. He welcomed and congrtaulated Prof. Saket Kushwaha for assuming the charge as new VC, UoL.
    He shared glimpses of the Kargil Campus and provided an overview of its vision, layout, academic status, student achievements, faculty and staff positions, and infrastructure.
    Dr. Mehboob shared requirements for the campus including approval of the master plan, construction of staff quarters, construction of conference hall, campus with high-speed internet connection, retrospective recognition of B. Ed and B.P.Ed courses, engagement of sports coach etc.
    During the interactive session, President of Ladakh University Student Union Kargil Campus on behalf of students of Kargil campus welcomed the VC and highlighted various issues for consideration of the VC.
    The issues included Departmental Coordinatorship, better understanding and management of departmental affairs, autonomy for departments, Student Union Office to ensure its functioning and facilitate communication between students and administration, rotational Vice-Chancellor office both in Leh and Kargil, heating facilities in faculty cabins, permanent doctor post, additional bus service, water dispensers, dustbins, sanitary pads for female students etc.
    During the interactive session the teaching, non-teaching and students of the campus also spoke and highlighted the issues faced by them.
    While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Saket Kushwaha said he will stay along with his office two days a week in Kargil Campus and assured them that all the concerns will be examined and needful will be done as per established norms.
    Later, the Vice Chancellor visited School of Agriculture Science and Technology, Kargil Campus, UoL where he was warmly welcomed by Chief Scientist and Head School of Agriculture Science and Technology, Dr Faizan Ahmed, faculty members, staff and students.
    On the occasion, an interactive session was held. Dr Faizan Ahmed presented a welcome speech and welcomed Prof. Saket Kushwaha for assuming charge as new VC. Dr Faizan briefed about the School of Agriculture Science and Technology.
    While speaking on the occasion, Prof. Saket Kushwaha congratulated the students for taking studies there. He also praised the staff and other concerned stakeholders for their dedicated works in setting up of the campus in a short period. He said that all the issues faced by the campus will be looked upon and needful will be done as per established norms.
    During the session, the other dignitaries also shared their experiences with the learners.
    The event was attended by Controller of Examinations, UoL, Professor Deskyong Namgyal; the In-charge Registrar, UoL, Nawang Tundup; Associate Director School of Agriculture Science and Technology (Leh), Dr. Dorjay Namgyal; Chief Scientist and Head School of Agriculture Science and Technology, Kargil Campus Dr. Faizan Ahmed, faculty member, learners and others.
    In the end, Assistant Professor, School of Agriculture Sciences and Technology, University of Ladakh, Dr. Kousar Fatima presented a vote of thanks.
