Kargil, April 20, 2025: The Watershed Yatra 2025, a nationwide campaign under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) 2.0, was inaugurated on April 19 at Panchayat Ghar Mulbekh, Kargil.
The event, led by Dr. Mehdi Khan Kacho, Project Manager (IWMP Kargil), marked the arrival of the Watershed Yatra Van from Delhi, symbolizing the launch of a pan-India initiative to promote water conservation and sustainable agriculture.
The event was attended by BDC Shargole, Namberdar Mulbekh, and local community members.
Oath Ceremony & Watershed Mahotsav: Formal commencement with pledges for water conservation.
Lokarpan & Bhumi Poojan: Rituals dedicating newly completed water-harvesting structures to the community.
Pani Ki Pathshala: An educational session emphasizing the importance of water management.
Cultural Program: Vibrant performances by Mulbeck’s local dance group, showcasing regional traditions.
Dr. Mehdi Khan Kacho ceremoniously handed over completed water-harvesting structures to the community through Lokarpan, reinforcing the project’s commitment to grassroots empowerment.
